Eggs For Sale

Well, if my art doesn't take off, maybe I'll become a farmer??
With 7-8 eggs a day, I've been selling some eggs locally - the girls might even cover their own living expences !? (Fingers feathers crossed) :)

Jo's diary

Jo is my lovely neighbour who has asked me for a 2010 diary, it's A5 size

The quote reads;
"I'm a great believer in luck and
I find the harder I work, the more I have of it."
Thomas Jefferson

I found this great clock - Ihope this link works.

I wish it could be a permanent fixture in my life - the heartbeat makes the time so precious.

Fuzzy Ophelia

I think It's finished. I'll leave it over night and have a look in the morning. How blurry is this pic !! Sorry :)

Ophelia Dreaming

I regret taking time out from this painting, procrastination and fear of the unknown really made me struggle to do some more work on it. I should have just stayed in the flow. Now I'm back at it again, I'm determined to finish it TODAY!!

The Artist within

I've just finished a new Journal, it's a bit unusual with goldfish, bugs and the feeling that someone is looking at you, but I think the floral background ties it all together ;

The frame is a bit 3 dimensional
Check it out at my shop

Avatar

Hi, this is me, or someone that looks a little more similar than the sea monster I used to be, except the bird on my head. Who I imagine would be a wise friend to get me through the day - although now I look at it, it doesn't seem so wise. Maybe more of a drinking buddy ? I'll have to come up with a name for it...

So, if you see the above face around, it's just the same old bird
hee hee - sorry :)

naomiorana.etsy.com

I'm very happy to have finally listed a few items on Etsy. I get so side-tracked when looking through all the wonderful 'shops'. There are so many amazingly talented people out there.

Ballerina 2

Well, I'm getting there with the Etsy shop. I think It'll be up and running tomorrow. Ironically in all my chat to friends about the upcoming 'shop' I seem to have sold out of my wares. I'm certainly not complaining but... I don't really have anything left.
On a more positive note, I have a studio busting with 2010 diary ideas, including some of my pretty ballerinas. So hopefully they'll be in the shop over the next week or two - Woo Hoo!

Orange and black - for the halloween spirit of things :)

Etsy

Yes, I am going to finally attempt it ! Aaaargh
Okay, as I have mentioned, time is a bit of a factor in the studio, so while I'm downloading and sorting my etsy store, things here might be a little quiet. Please forgive me. I will still be checking daily for comments and to read all the updates - my favourite part of the day ;)

Spring has Sprung !

At last Spring is in the air after what feels like a VERY long Winter. Today was the first day in a long time that the sun really had us smiling. First step was to plant out my Summer vegies, 3 Pumpkin varieties, zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, capsicum, cucumber, peas, beans etc

I cannot believe that this tiny little seedling will soon be a gigantic plant with numerous huge Queensland Blues ! Yet, every year I eat the yummy rewards - see, it's not all just about gardening!
it's also about...

chooks !
These are my 'leghorns' who are in retirement, but still lay an egg a day (well, in the warmer months) and help with my gardening. So, much to the kids delight we have 7 young 'Isa-browns' who are now in their awkward teenage phase and should start laying in the next month.

One of our gangly teenagers who never realised her potential fame, my son has named her 'Thomas' (he's  a serious Thomas the Tank fan!) maybe Thomasina ??

Pink Journal

I had so much fun making the last journal, so, I've kept designing and creating whilst still inspired .I'm using the excuse of waiting for the paint to dry on the painting I'm currently working on (still have to come up with a name!).

Not to mention that I needed a new journal, I wanted a cool one that I could carry around in my handbag. So, with Christmas coming up, I think I know what my friends will be getting he he hee :).

The quote reads;

Studio Views

Today I spent a lot of time looking out of my studio window, this is part of the view. We've had a drought for the past few years, so after some extensive rain, to see pregnant cattle in this lush green grass is a pleasure. When the calves are born I'll attach a picture.

Boat girl

Today in the studio I did a bit more work on this painting,
it's painted on a large piece of pine and I think I'm half -way through.
It's a piece for an upcoming exhibition in December, which goes
with the ethereal /marine theme. Some completed pieces are in my Fine Art Gallery ready to go.

I really like the  quiet, calm that the image evokes - maybe because it's something completely missing in my life at the moment !?

Sketch Books

CONFESSION TIME

Okay, it's time to admit that I have a slight fetish for nice sketch books. But as the covers are generally
fairly bland, I've taken to designing my own.
This is my latest one which is a lovely antiqued gold colour.

Mmmmm you can just smell the clean, white pages :)

Portrait of Darcy

PORTRAIT OF DARCY
I was inspired after reading April's latest update on her new stray cat, to do a portrait of my feline friend Darcy who was also a stray.
I think she gives the studio a 'homey' feel !
