Spent

'Spent' is the prompt this week at Illustration Friday

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.”
 ~ George Bernard Shaw

I thought this image was appropriate as I have 'spent' most of the last 6 years looking after my kiddles and making loads of mistakes along the way ... most definitely the best 6 years of my life.

Detail of painting, I like the birdies. The pears are gold leaf but don't seem as golden in the photo.

Thank you so much for visiting and for your WONDERFUL comments, they make my week !!

Racing

Racing is the prompt this week for Illustration Friday

"If you spend all of your time racing ahead to the future, you're liable
to discover you've left a great present behind." ~ Tom Wilson

I thought this horse would be a good example of 'racing' but then realised that the fish also portrayed that image. A two for one bargain!

Transportation

is the prompt this week with Illustration Friday

"Music is a means of rapid transportation" ~ John Cage

maybe I should be working on my photography skills as well - there's a bit of glare but you can get the basic idea. Loads of blue and loads of texture.

My favourite part is the Horses head, It's definitely not anatomically correct but I like the flowing lines and blue shadow play. For all his size and muscles, his eyes betray his gentle nature.

Four Seasons

One of the incredible things about living in Tasmania is the proximity to nature and the accessibility. The other thing is the incredible weather variations in one day, the old saying "Four Seasons in one day" is used internationally I'm sure but within the last week we have played in the snow AND gone to the beach !
Needless to say, both occasions finished with happy, wet, hungry, tired kids ... and loads of washing for me ... hmmm
